Union Community Harvest Party Sept 19th

The Main Street Union and Econimic Development Committee in collbaoration with the City of Union Chanber of Commerce is hosting the Union Community Harvest Party on September 19, 2020. The Party, beginning at noon, will be located at The Union City Park and will include music, artisains and vendors. The events purpose is to gain community support for The Friends of The Historic Union Community Hall. This nonprofit is working to purchase and renovate the old Union United Methodist Church and develop the historic building into a community and arts center. This beautiful brick building with stained glass windows on Main Street and Delta in Union, Oregon has been a landmark in the community for close to one hundered years. The Union Community Harvest Party Music lineup will be manged by local favorite Elwood. The lineup includes: Brent Smith, Jezebels' Mother, Steve Hines and Elwood. The Friends of the Historic Union Community Hall will have a table avialable to sign your name

From the Union Victorian Cemetery Flyer Union Victorian Cemetery Established in 1862 The oldest Monument Cemetery in Northeast Oregon 770 E. Fulton St. P.O. Box 707 Union, Oregon 97883 541-562-5212 UnionCemetery1@frontier.com Office Hours 9:00-11:00 The Chapel This building is reported to have been constructed in 1893 as a tool shed for the cemetery. In 1997 the Veterans took timber from the old Union Four Mill and siding from an historic house and refurbished the shed into a Chapel. Outbreaks We find published in the papers stories from 1909 stating that Union had an outbreak of Diphtheria and also Scarlet Fever. The railroad was closed as well as churches and schools. a curfew was set up so that no one under the age of 19 could be on the streets.
